The worst part of not having a house was, according to Ian, the total lack of privacy. Poor Ian had a problem with speaking to people and being in crowds. Now he had to shower in public. He hated it but had no choice. His work at the cemetery was hard and he got dirty and sweaty, the only possible option was going to the local gym for a shower.Ian really wanted more money and the only way he could think of making them was writing a novel. Ian couldn't handle a normal job because of the fact that co-workers existed.

Ian spends time writing instead of reading nowadays. His novel was called; "Trouble Loves Hatred". It was the story of a young boy's lack of friends and social life. But the young boy named Liam didn't mind. He hated everyone and everything except himself. Liam was happy on his own and that's the story of the novel.
In many ways the novel reflected Ian's childhood, he was bullied and had no friends. Ian spend most of his childhood in solitude, reading a book or writing. He had friends; Ernest, Oscar, John, Graham, the list was long. His favourite authors were his best friends.
