Part One, Touch Down!

This is Ian Quinn, he has just moved to Sunset Valley. He bought a nice house on a beautiful lot, or that's what he thought. Unfortunately he was tricked by the sellsman and all Ian got was a big empty lot. He don't have any money, the only thing he got is a bike and a bed. He doesn't have any friends or family, but he isn't very sad about that. The fact that he didn't get a house on the other hand upset him quite a bit. But Ian never complains, that's one of his problems.

The next day Ian went to the cemetery. He was determined to get a job, he was afraid of speaking to the cemetery boss but he preferred more than going on the dole. When Ian arrived at the cemetery his possible future boss didn't even say hello to Ian. Ian swallowed hard and then started talking:

- Hi, my name is Ian Quinn. I am new to this town. C-could I possibly get a job here? The man looked strangely at Ian and nodded. Then he continued raking the leaves, Ian looked at the man and was in a state of chock. Had he actually been able to get a job?
- When do I start? he asked slowly.
- Tomorrow at 6 pm, the man answered.

Ian's new boss wasn't much of a talker, his name was Derek and he lived on his own in a small cottage. Derek was old and tired, he was very happy that Ian was willing to help him on the cemetery.Ian quickly found his favourite spot in the new town; the Library!

He read tons of books and loved the works of Ernest Hemmingway. Ian loved the library because it was isolated; hardly anyone came there. It was old and full of memories. It reminded him of the cemetery, rustic and cosy. Ian loved strange things, the dust on an old book and the wilted flowers on a forgotten grave. He loved the fact that no one is remembered forever, everything ends. Ian knew that thoughts like that were unusual, but he liked being different. It made him feel special.
